FLYING FISH JUMPS SAMPLES
As a real kaleidoscope, the album « Road Trip » is well named. On this album, the Flying Fish, jumps into some new urban jazz dimensions. Playing big baffling beats, they invite us to fly into crasy dreams that are quite literally mind-blowing. Making fun on their own references, the quartet juggles with its rock, pop and world music influences. They share a big sound, blending improvisation and arrangements as in a good story. Martin Daniel (piano n’ keys), Cyrille de Haes (Double Bass), Daniel Duchateau (Drums), Vincent Ghilbert (clarinets, compositions)
« Emerging from the ocean of jazz to harvest other colors and sounds, this is a jazz album that literally runs on energy! » ***(Le Soir). « This quartet composed of four musicians from different and complimentary musical backgrounds that offers its diverse and surprising blend of deap sounds. Discover some of them on their first album Road Trip. A feast for the ear! » *** (L’agenda) « Flying Fish Jumps never goes where you expect… Their freestyle jazz flirts with afro-beat, oriental, and Balkan music. Their rock’n’roll energy adds to their improvisational skills and lets the band’s influences emerge out of the spirit of Frank Zappa, the power of John Zorn and the feeling of Steve Lacy. »(Jazzques)
